This portrait is dated March of 2003, which marked the end of my disciplined pencil studies. There was a long six year hiatus before I tried again in early 2009, only to find out that I got better. If there's anything I've learned over the years about drawing, it's that drawing is more about your ability to see than your ability to draw.
